Using the extra day this year to start something new.

Yes, that is me, and yes, it’s a few years ago. It’s a good reminder for my aching, aging body of what I have accomplished. And even though my parameters change as I work through new life challenges, I use this as the motivation that I can do hard things!
I’ve had a few job transitions over the years, but this one – shifting to self employment and writing as a focus – is more of a career transition than any of the others have been. And it’s challenging. I have to recalibrate what it means to be productive. I have to let go of my current image of what it looks like to be working. And, most of all, I have to get out of my comfort zone!
Putting myself out there, potentially to people who don’t know me at all, is a scary thing for me. At the same time, I am reading and thinking a lot these days, and I think I have some nuggets to share. So, here’s my leap into something new – writing publicly with a hope to spark conversation, share what’s on my mind, and (spoiler alert) maybe get a little preview into the book that is hovering inside and waiting to emerge. It’s a long journey ahead but I am excited to share it.
Keep your eye out for more to come – and I look forward to engaging with you on this platform!
